Founded in 2023, the VCOBE Economic Review is the premier undergraduate and graduate economics website publication at UTRGV Vackar Robert C. Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship. Our platform is managed entirely of UTRGV undergraduate and graduate students, representing a diverse range of academic backgrounds and experiences.
We curate and publish exceptional articles and commentaries sourced from submissions by UTRGV students, focusing on business subjects that offer unique perspectives, clarity, and insights in academia.

Sophia Muro
Editor-in-Chief

I am Sophia Muro, a junior majoring in Accounting and a Kemper Scholar at UTRGV. As Editor-in-Chief of the Economics Review, I enjoy leading a team to create content that create thoughtful discussions. While working at the UREC I have learned time management and how to improve my customer service. Volunteering is something I’m really passionate about, and I make time to help out in the community whenever I can. Balancing academics, work, and service is a challenge I enjoy, and I’m always looking for new ways to grow and contribute.
Jocelyn Garcia

I am Jocelyn Garcia, a junior double majoring in Economics and Finance. I am currently the Managing Editor for the Commentary Department of the Economics Review. In addition to my academic pursuits, I work as a Sales Representative at AssuranceAmerica, where I apply my financial knowledge to assist clients with insurance solutions. I also serve as an academic tutor for the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program, providing educational support to veterans transitioning to higher education. I aspire to become a financial advisor, guiding individuals and organizations toward informed financial decisions.

I am Danielle Cavazos, a senior majoring in Finance. I'm the Outreach Director for the Economic Review, Professional Development Chair for ALPFA, and a UTIMCO Scholar. I worked as a summer analyst in private equity and aspire of becoming a financial planner. I enjoy exercising and cooking in my free time.

Alfonso Delgado

Alfonso Delgado is a sophomore majoring in Economics and Finance with a minor in Applied Data Science & Statistics. In the near future, Alfonso plans on working in Investment Banking and Private Equity before pursuing a Masters & PhD in Economics. In his free time, Alfonso enjoys playing chess and guitar, reading about history, watching soccer, and volunteering.
Jinna Yoon

Jinna Yoon is a graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting. She is currently a graduate teaching assistant for undergraduate financial and managerial accounting courses and wants to pursue the CPA after graduation. Her hobbies include taking cycling classes and playing the piano.
